Art therapy is a technique rooted in the idea that creative expression can foster healing and mental well-being.

The theoretical base of art therapy is based primarily on Carl G. Jung’s analytical psychology. It represents a development method, where, with the help of artistic expression the unconscious dynamics of the psyche are brought to light.

There are many forms of expressions: drawing, painting, making clay figures, work with dreams, making movements, dancing, sounds making and voicing, writing. These creative expressions work like a bridge to the parts of the psyche that are normally hidden in the unconscious layers.

The art therapeutic process involves the creative work and methods proposed by the therapist and the conversation with the client. Thus, the individual is supported to access his or her own subconscious and those resources that have been forgotten or denied to generate opportunities for resolution and healing.

The therapist guides the release, the change and the increase in awareness, joy, self-acceptance and action in the life of the person under therapy.

Art therapy can be used in trauma and grief work, in resolving crises and conflicts, for dealing with psychological pain, eating disorders, stress and burnout, anxiety and depression or for gaining more clarity in life.

In a group or individual session, art therapy methods and tools can also be combined with family constellation work.
